When a parent files againt the non-custodial parent for child support the courts send the child support order to the child support division, then what happens is the child support devision is responiable to see that the child support paymennts are being made, they keep track of all payments made and whan a payment is not made, if a non-custodial parent does not pay their child support oblagation then the child support services can start proceeding actions against that parent as in suspending the non-custodial parents drivers licence when the support is behind in back erarages of $500.00 or more, also they can garnish the non-custodial parents wages, this is where they usally start, but this is very serious when a parent does not pay thei child support order and gets to far behind in back arerages, the worst that can happen depending on the state you reside in and their laws a parent can spend jail time of 6 months andifthe parent still refuss to pay then they can be proscuted by the DA and can get up to two years in prison.
