Signing over rights. Will i get in trouble legally asking my ex to sign over his rights. He keeps begging me to agree to lower his child support. He already 6 thousand behind on his child from a previous marriage and now he's behind on our sons. If he signs over his rights that would relinquish him paying child support to me. I would agree to no support if he signed over his rights. |

If that is really what you want to do, do it. But are youi sure that you do not want support from him? You and your child need it and very well deserve it! As your ex deserves to pay and take on his responsibilities as a father!
The answer is yes, as long as you both agree and as long as you are not on public assistance. If you are, then no he would not be able to sign over his rights.

Dhr got involed with my first child with my ex husband. he has custody of her. the case has been closed. i have since then moved on and am 7 months pregnant. he has threatened to get dhr involved with this baby. i am suitable and prepared for this baby. is there anything legally he or dhr can do now....
How would a father go about signing away his rights to children that he hasnt seen in 2-3 yrs but does pay child support for them, never missed a payment? mother has fiance who doesnt want the father to have anything to do with the children, and father doesnt really have a whole lot of feelings for...
I live in utah and want to sign my parental rights away (and i don't need to be told that i'll regret it) as i was told it will cost me thousands of dollars by the time i get eveything done. however, i already had an attorney draw those papers up, but he wouldn't do the adoption ones....
