Settlement payment to cease child support payments

My ex-wife has agreed to cease child support payments made by me to her, since our children have lived full time with me for the last 5 years and will continue to do so past their 18th birthdays. Do I just file an order with the court? Do I need to have a court hearing? Do you have any recommended wording or format?
Thanks much,
Tim Millen

If you would like information on this subject , I recommend that you go to the law library to research this subject . This will be a lot less expensive than lawyer fee's. You can also access your states law library online. Another possibility would be to contact the court clerk in whatever county your case is or will be in . And ask them to connect you to the office that can help you any question you may have about your right as a paternal parent, And with the proper papers you may need to file with the courts to take care of your situation.

You should draw up a new agreement in your own words, both sign it, preferably with 2 witnesses, attach the previous agreement incorporated into the court's order, and state specifically that you are amending the prior arrangement by mutual agreement, and date it.
