I would contact your child support agency to find out.

He should never of quit his job, he is not going to get away with not paying his child support order, it will keep growing in back erarages, if you no where he lives and when he finds a job contact the child support services, this will help them to find him, as for when the child support services will and can enforce child support is when the non-custodial parent gets behind in his child support of $500.00 and when the child support get over $2,500 in most states the parent can be prosucuted and for the first offence he can get 6 months, second time up to two years.

Thank you both for your answers, he is back to work, and THANK GAWD! I still had several months w/o support, but putting them in jail really isn't a detterent and keeps us from getting our support even longer. It's just not a win situation for anyone.

I believe BOTH parents should have to pay for their children not just one parent. At some point the custodial parent needs to contribut and stop sucking off the other parent. My ex uses the $1000 a month child support on the new love and that person's 5 children from two different spouses. My 2 daughters are teenagers now and have made comments on how that money doesn't go towards their needs but rather tired of seeing gifts and other items getting purchased for the other lover and the 5 other children now in the picture. My ex makes twice the amount of money as me but since I refused to buy my children off during the custody battle I gave up the fight after 3 yrs. I gave up a year ago and the day I gave up in court the buying of gifts and taking them on trips stopped. No more eating out, no more decorative furniture for their bedrooms, computers, TV's, ipod phones, etc. Now I have become the bad parent due to them always coming to my home saying how they don't get basic items like underwear, pads, food for after school. My response to them is I am sorry but I pay a lot each month for their up keep. I don't mind paying for everything they need when they are with me but I am not paying for new wardrobes for some other household When the girls have gone back and asked for some of the CS money they get "f*** you its my money". I have 2 yrs left to pay on the oldest and 3 yrs for the youngest! I wouldn't have a problem paying each month if I knew half that CS money was going into a college fund vs being spent as soon as its hits the bank account.

I am in no shape sucking off him, he owes me $20,000.00 and I have already paid WAY more money in raising the child he has NOTHING to do with than he could ever think of. If you look through the court orders for child support, each parent is financially responsible for the child based on their income. It's called a child support worksheet for financial responsibility. So maybe some more education on your part, 1CrazyLaws?!? You know what, he got off easy too, because I don't get "public" school for my kids, I have to buy uniforms, tuition, books, and after school activities. He doesn't pay a dime for health care, nor cover them on any insurance, I DO! Etc, Etc, Etc.... So don't tell me that all us recievers of Child Support are "Sucking off" the non-custodial parent, what a JOKE!
