Is there any way to get the arrearage payed lump sum?

I'm trying to find out if there is any way to get a child support arrearage balance paid in full instead of accepting a low monthly payment? The arrearage is on two children of mine that are 19 and fixing to turn 18 next week.

I believe this is up to your ex wife, you go through the child support office and they set up a meeting, with you, your ex and the child support office representative, then whatever you agree on is put into writing and signed by you both and then a judge.

It is possible depending on a couple of factors. If the obligee has never had any state benefits and the obligor and the obligee agree and the court approves the settlement. It is critical that the final order closes the case and states clearly the CS order has been fulfilled
