I heard a co-worker talking the other day and it sounds fishy. He is paying child-support and has remarried. He talked about divorcing his new wife and paying the new wife Alimony to lower his Net pay which would lower his Child support. I think he and his new wife could be doing something fishy. What do you think?

His child support obligation would lower his available income to pay Alimony, not the other way around. His previous obligation won't change if he chose to subsequently take on additional obligations. Waste of court fees, really.

IMHO,

Does that mean the FIRST obligation is the priority payout? What if the Alimony was established through the court before Child support was established through the court. Would it then create a lower the Child support?

I think if this is true it will back fire, however ease dropping is not a good thing. I would act like I heard nothing and then not ease drop anymore. But to educate you I will tell you ths the father cannot file for a divorce inorder to pay his current wife alimony, because you have to be married ten years to get almony.
