How do I gain ownership of my old case file which is scheduled to be destroyed? (Berrien County Michigan) My child support case has just been closed. I recieved a notice from the FOC that they will be destroying the paper case file within one year (per Federal Regulations). Is there any case law to sue for ownership of the file before it is destroyed? |

The Friend of the Court is going to destroy all the records in my case file, whether I pay to have them reproduced (copied) or not. These documents, in the FOC's opinion, are useless. Since there are some three thousand pages contained within my case file, and the copying surcharge is $1.00 Per Page, I need to know if anyone has ever sued to have ownership of these files, without paying thousands of dollars. And, what process would need to be initiated.

If i file a child support case after he already has one with some one else which takes priority since my kids are older and we did live with him, i just went through a verbel agreement with him, but now i think it is to hard for him to pay both of us, but if i go to court they might say his first case...
