Child support modification I have a child support order with my ex for our three children. for $720 mth. since our order has been in effect he has had 4 other children by three different women. all the woman went for child support orders, so he has a total of four child support orders on file. One of the women who has a support order is his wife and they are living together. He recently went to court to request a decrease in the child support order because he is unemployed. he is currently recieving unemployment compensation. i have been getting about 95% of the money I am suppose to get from his unemployment. can the courts decrease my order just because he is on unemployment.will my order decrease beacuse of the new child support orders on file and Can his wife really get child support while their married and living together. I thought that was illeagl and called double dipping. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated |

His support payments can be reduced due to unemployment.
However his total cost of being a father may go up due to the new support orders added to the existing orders, now having said that the court may take this into consideration and reduce your payment if the father can prove there is not enough money left over after paying for his older children there is not enough to support his new child or children.
As far as double dipping it can be illegal if the child or custodial parent is on public assistance.
