Child support for florida, palm beach county I have been paying for two children in palm beach florida the amount of $1038.00 and one of the children reaches 18 next week and as stated in the divorce degree she either has to graduate high school-which she has - or reach 18 - which she will. the amount was based on $20,000 for my ex-wife and $45,000 for myself.the decree has no set amount for the last child but states the child support will be adjusted based upon child support guidelines existing at that time(sept.18,2002) If the exact amount can't be caculated where can i find the information? |

You will have to pay child support even if your child has gradurated until she reaches the age of 18 and as for the other child you can plan on paying $519.00 a month that is half of what you were paying. You can call the court house and ask for the child support division and they will tell you how much the support will drop,but it most cases I have found it drops in half,if the mother wants more child support she would need to file a motion to modifly the orignal order and ask the court for an increase,the law is if you are making more now than at the time of the orignal child support order the mother could get an increase,just as if you make less than you were at the time of the orignal order you could ask the court to decrease the child support amount.
