Child support arrearage

My ex-husband just filed for un-employment.He is over $16,000 in arrearage.Will un-employment intercept child support payments?Or will my ex get all of it?

If you have your case open with your States Child Support Office they can intercept up to 50% of the UC amount.

My child support case is with Hamilton County courts.Will they automatically intercept unemployment ,or do I need to notify them?Who do I notify-Child support,or unemployment?

The Child Support Office would be the one to intercept from the Unemployment. To get a more specific on where you need to open a case, I need to know what State you are in.

Yes you will get part of the money and he will receive the rest form unemployment. I'm in your shoes and i do receive some of the money. he gets $50.00 and i get $25.00, but once he runs out of unemployment payment you will not receive any more, untill he goes back to work . or he gets an extention on his unemployment payments. hope this helps to answer your question.

We are expecting our taxes to be offset due to child support arrearage. however the arreage amount without the interest is alot less than our tax refund. it was my understanding that they will only take the taxes and apply it to the actual arrearage amount and not the interest? is this true?
