California: Child Support when does it end?

My son will turn 18 in sept. 2009 but graduate from High School in June 2009 and will continue onto to college in sept. 2009. Does his father continue to pay child support till his 18th birthdate in Sept.2009, though he'll graduated from H.S. in June 2009?

That depends on the stiulations of your separation/divorce decree. You should consult that document to if a suspense period of child support was included.

In my separation agreement, I agreed to pay child support until age 18 or until my child graduates high school-which ever occurs last.

You should also make your child aware that when he or she turns 18-your expectations of them will definitely change. They should be aware that they may need to find a job to assist with expenses.

That does not make you a poor parent for holding them accountable for their success in life as an adult.

Best of Luck.

Legal it is 18 years of age unless otherwise specified in the child support agreement.

You shouldcheck your divorce decree, and if the child has any behavior issues as well as SED issues he/she may still be entitled to continueschool and the father or mother could be responsible to continue child suppoert payments. Check with an Attorney quickly.
